Description

Situated in the magnificent Wadi Feynan within the Dana Biosphere Reserve, the largest reserve in Jordan, Feynan Ecolodge is a remote and charming environmentally sustainable retreat. Hailed as one of the top fifty ecolodges in the world by National Geographic Adventure Magazine, solar powered Feynan offers the most comfortable eco-experience in Jordan.

The lodge offers travellers an unparalleled opportunity to experience Jordans wilderness, meet its native people and explore its ancient history. This charming property will appeal to those looking for a unique and off-the-beaten-track escape.

Set against the dramatic desert landscape, this idyllic 26-room Arabic-style lodge blends elegantly into the natural surroundings. By night, Feynan is lit by candlelight, creating a serene and enchanting ambience. All individually designed rooms have an ensuite bathroom and offer a different view. There are three room categories, with Deluxe rooms being the most spacious and featuring a private balcony.

The menu at Feynan features an array of delightful vegetarian dishes inspired by traditional Arab cuisine and created using fresh local produce. As the sun rises, enjoy breakfast on the terrace, stop for a picnic lunch in the wilderness and end your day with romantic dinner in the dining room, lit solely by candles.

Feynan Ecolodge is somewhere to switch off your laptops and your phones, and enjoy the peaceful and magnificent surroundings. There are plenty of adventures to be had. Hike through the desert, visit Bedouin encampments, explore local archaeological sites and descend into ancient copper mines, or simply unwind on the rooftop terrace under starry skies. Other activities include mountain biking, stargazing and cooking classes.

Feynan Ecolodge is located at the south western edge of Dana Biosphere Reserve – near the villages of Qurayqura and Feynan. It is a 3 hours drive from Amman and 2 hours drive from Aqaba.

Feynan is not a typical hotel. It is most enjoyed by travellers who are happy to give up some of the luxuries of a five star hotel in order to get a five star experience.

The ethos and spirit of Feynan is reflected in the details of the experience. For example, the transportation to and from the lodge is provided by the local community. The drivers use their own cars which are very run down and most drivers do not speak English. The bumpy ride may be considered as part of the experience by some or an inconvenience for others, but at the end of the day it has become a source of income for 45 families in the area, and that is why we do it.

We invest heavily in training our staff and take pride in the great team we have that never fails to deliver an incredible experience for our guests. We encourage our guests to engage with the staff, however not everyone speaks English. The front desk staff and guides are fluent in English and are always available to help you with anything you may need. There are English speakers on duty around the clock to assist you with anything you need.
